Ute Koskie

Ute Koskie, born in Germany and immigrated to Australia in 1965 with her family.

It was not long after that she began to draw and paint. It was here that she also found her love for horses and other animals.

A friend, of her mother, started to see how she was drawing and painting, and at the age of 12, encouraged her to enter The Keilor Art Token Prize. The was the youngest entrant in the exhibition and her water colour painting of a pony sold.

At the age of 14 she entered into the Keilor City Library Art Prize, winning the drawing section. This encouraged her further along and excelled in Art and Graphics at school.

Her mother, was and still is her greatest fan, who also encouraged her along every step of the way.

Ute took painting lessons with various instruction with much gusto.

Then life took over, work, marrying and family life.

It was in 2000 that she and her husband moved to Redesdale, Victoria, with their horses and dogs.

Ute then began to enter in art competitions again.

Ute, as a mature aged student, went to TAFE in Bendigo and received her Diploma of Arts (Visual Arts) gaining a double major in painting and printmaking.

This experience opened her eyes further afield, also including sculpture.

Ute, has since, won many awards. She has also had 1 shared and solo exhibitions.
