I started sketching a little in the mid-nineteen nineties for fun, but didn’t take any lessons until about twenty years later when I attended several Council of Adult Education classes in Melbourne. I learnt a little about sketching, charcoal and painting and one year later undertook life drawing lessons once a week at Trentham Neighbourhood House, where I was able to get a better sense of control, form and dimension in sketching.
It wasn’t until a few years ago that by chance, I came across Kyneton Art Group at the Red Brick Hall and found a treasure trove of knowledge, talent and comradery. Although I have only attended a few workshops and have not yet placed work in a competition, my work continues to improve, which is the main point. I find Kyneton Art Group a wonderfully tranquil way to spend a Tuesday at the Red Brick Hall.
